Building Surveyor
Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Building Surveyor to join our Guernsey Building & Project Consultancy team. This position is suitable for newly qualified surveyors, those working toward their APC, or candidates with post‑qualification experience. The role is to work upon a wide spectrum of commercial properties across the Channel Islands providing the full breadth of building surveying services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical due diligence, condition assessments and building pathology advice.
Prepare and manage schedules of condition, dilapidations and planned maintenance reports.
Project manage, supporting clients to develop and deliver refurbishment projects, including feasibility studies.
Administer building contracts, including preparing specifications and overseeing project delivery.
Assist with Reinstatement Cost Assessments and statutory compliance reviews.
Key Skills
Newly qualified, part‑qualified (APC pathway), or MRICS.
Experience in commercial property preferred but not essential.
Strong technical knowledge and willingness to learn.
Excellent IT, problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
Ability to manage workload and deadlines across multiple projects.
Full, clean driving license.
Team Overview
The Channel Islands commercial office based in Guernsey comprises a team of 22 covering property management, asset management, agency, valuation and building surveying. The team works collaboratively and alongside our residential sales department, offering a supportive environment for professional development and APC progression.
