Role Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate to join the market leading Capital Allowances Consultancy Practice at Savills. The role sits within an established, highly successful team who offer best in class Capital Allowances Consultancy Services to a wide and diverse range of clients from both the UK and overseas.
The team specialise in undertaking fully disclosed and detailed capital allowances valuation reports that can be submitted to Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC), to support claims for capital allowances purposes and they have an exemplary track record and reputation with both HMRC and the VOA.
You will have the opportunity to work intimately with a range of prestigious clients, whilst managing a complex and extensive workload. The role offers fantastic exposure and development which in turn could significantly progress your career.
We are seeking a team player who is also able to demonstrate reliability, flexibility and initiative and who is able to adapt to ever changing client and market requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing a portfolio of Capital Allowance clients and project delivery.
- Preparation of Capital Allowance valuation and claims for submission to HMRC/VOA
- Providing all aspects of Capital Allowances Consultancy Advisory Services as required.
- Managing and developing strong relationships with our clients and internal stakeholders.
- Preparing responses to or liaising with HMRC with regards to queries on claims on behalf of our clients.
- Delegating, reviewing and supervising work delivery to junior level staff.
- Dealing with all incoming enquires from across the Savills network.
- Meeting with existing clients to explain our services and present completed work.
- To set clear objectives in line with company/Divisional/team strategy and to measure performance against these
- To conduct regular 121’s, hold team meetings and complete thorough probationary and annual appraisals as per company guidelines
- To support team members in career development via training, coaching, mentoring and the promotion and succession/talent processes
Key Skills
- High level of tax technical knowledge of UK Capital Allowances legislation.
- Experience in preparing and submitting capital allowance tax relief valuations and claims over a broad range of sectors and different types of capital projects such as new builds, acquisitions, refurbishments & fit outs.
- Experience in preparing and submitting capital allowances valuations on both acquisitions & disposals.
- Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of providing all aspects of capital allowances advisory services to both existing and perspective clients
- Demonstrates an understanding of wider business and economic issues.
- Relevant professional qualification, for example, MRICS; or Law qualification, ACA/CA/ACCA/ATT/CTA; or Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training Course
- Cost management: financial and commercial acumen with excellent planning, budgeting and operational reporting skills.
- Possesses vision and is able to develop complex strategies and solutions.
- Excellent relationship builder to generate business.
