Role Overview:
This is a permanent position based in the Future Talent team requiring high levels of self-motivation and drive to ensure the effective recruitment, administration and coordination of apprenticeship programme activities.
The role consists of sourcing, attracting and assessing students onto our internships and apprenticeship programme. You will also be working with apprentices and their teams to ensure the apprentices achieve their apprenticeship and are fully supported throughout the process. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the programme remains competitive and market leading.

We are looking for a career focused team player who will help us manage the best, most diverse talent to match our business’ needs for the future. A busy team of 11 is headed by Naomi Chandler and is responsible for attracting, selecting and managing all apprentice and graduate talent into the business. It is a highly dynamic and sociable team with lots of opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of all divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Support:
- Maintaining all apprentice spreadsheets e.g. apprentice log, training provider log and mailing lists to ensure all information is regularly updated and accurate.
- Working closely with managers to ensure they are aware of their responsibility and commitment to apprentices, and remaining in contact with apprentices to ensure they are obtaining the right experience within their team i.e. organising quarterly catch ups with apprentices and managers.
- First point of contact for all Learning Coaches / Apprentice Outcome Officers and ensure all apprentices are on track to complete their apprenticeship on time.
- Coordination of apprenticeship enrolment and professional membership
- Supporting apprentice initiatives i.e. committees and events
- Support the Apprenticeship Manager with salary benchmarking and annual remuneration review.
- Coordinate and manage a buddy system for all apprentices
- Coordination with the Talent Development team and HR Business Partners to identify apprenticeship programmes for existing staff.
- Providing assistance to employees with regards to MyHR, acting as a first point of contact for the HR Shared Services team.
- Monitoring performance and absence cases with line managers, apprentices and HR Business Partners.
- Monthly payroll administration including changes for current apprentices and leavers.
- Monthly HR reporting including sickness, appraisals and reports for any ad-hoc requests.
- Ensuring employee records are accurate and up to date on HR. Net and relevant lists.
- Providing advice and guidance to apprentices, managers, supervisors and counsellors on the APC/EPA and professional qualifications.
- Qualification support to include coordination of mock interviews and monitoring qualification progress.
- Managing the apprentice Microsoft Teams Channel
Internship and Apprentice Programme Attraction, Selection and Recruitment :
- Attraction of apprentices - internal and external marketing of apprenticeship opportunities. This would include selling the business case to managers, driving understanding of current initiatives to staff who could be eligible to upskill via an apprenticeship, and creating a talent pool of external candidates for the roles.
- Assisting with careers/school events, managing relationships with careers teams, business representatives and students.
- Supporting all the work experience initiatives such as Career Ready, Savills with Schools etc. to continue forming and building relationships with schools to promote the apprenticeship scheme.
- Regularly present at and attend careers event
- Recruitment and selection of apprentices – coordinating applications, ensuring diverse candidate pools, coordinating the screening and shortlisting of applicants, coordinating the assessment and interview process, producing and evaluating assessment materials (assessment centre, psychometric testing, RARE software, interview process etc.)
- Acting as a first point of contact to both the business and applicants - offering professional advice and information.
- Screening candidates for the work experience and apprentice programmes – using Team Tailor and RARE to assist with the process.
- Organising and hosting the running of assessment centres – liaising with the candidates and Savills assessors, updating assessment materials, collation of scores etc.
- Preparing next round interviews- liaising with candidates and assessors
- Organising feedback calls to unsuccessful candidates
- Attending wash-up meetings to determine who we would like recruit for our programme
- Ad-hoc project work
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous involvement in coordinating graduate or apprenticeship programmes desirable.
- Previous HR experience desirable but not essential
- Previous recruitment experience desirable but not essential
