Role Overview

This role is a key supporting role for Tax and VAT compliance for Savills UK. Reporting to Finance Manager and managing a team of 3, post holder will become a reliable member of Finance team to delivery timely returns and clear guidance, accurate data and concise notes. Successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of Tax work, but also be a supportive and cooperative people person.

Key Responsibilities

Team management

Working closely with Savills Group Tax Director on all tax related matters.

Savills UK and Subsidiary UK and Foreign VAT returns
- Month end Balance Sheet Recs for the VAT accounts
- Maintain the VAT matrix held within the finance systems
- Support VAT team with VAT regulations
- Oversee submission of VAT returns
- Monitor and review updates to VAT reports

Corporation Tax returns
- Review tax computations
- Review working spreadsheets for cost analysis
- Submit computations in Alpha Tax
- Liaise with Tax Director on queries
- Transfer pricing BEPS compliance

R&D
- Analyse R&D transactional information
- Work with external consultants to provide data for the return they prepare

PSA
- Support team in their analysis / queries
- Ensure divisional accruals are accurate

Document all processes for the team’s tasks and keep relevant process documentation up to date.

Key Skills

The ideal candidate will have experience in VAT and Corporation tax compliance, or if not, be able to demonstrate that they can adapt to working in a predominantly tax role and be

Team Overview

The Tax team has 4 members and is a specialised team supporting both Savills UK Finance and Group Tax and Finance teams. It has built close working relationships with key members of other teams and provides expertise, support and ensures compliance in the relevant areas.
