Team Overview
We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to maintain and grow our Building Surveying and Architecture service lines based in our Telford Hub Office reaching across the West Midlands. The successful candidate will be joining our existing North region multi-disciplinary Architecture & Building
Surveying Team, servicing both retained and consultancy clients, working with and supported by other professional disciplines within the offices.
Working across spectacular rural landscapes, towns and villages, from pre-acquisition surveys and defect diagnosis to conservation and project management, with the opportunity to develop new service lines and specialisms with excellent career opportunities. The Telford hub has an established work stream but also very much untapped potential and your role will involve developing the business within this location.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Maintain and grow the existing client base
- Increase business form new work streams
People Leadership:
- To set clear objectives in line with company/Divisional/team strategy and to measure performance against these
- To conduct regular 121’s, hold team meetings and complete thorough probationary, interim and annual appraisals as per company guidelines
- To support team members in career development via training (to ensure high skill levels both technically & behaviourally), coaching, mentoring and the promotion and succession/talent processes
- To adhere to all company processes with regards to people management and to role model professional behaviours at all times
- To ensure recruitment is completed professionally and in line with team/divisional/company goals, thinking strategically re future needs and in line with our diversity goals
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Experience:
People management and leadership experience, able to evidence:-
- Responsibility for strategic growth of teams, via recruitment and organic growth
- Proven ability to develop skills and enable personal and professional growth of individuals
- Able to delegate effectively for maximum results
- A motivator, able to create successful team working and individual performance and engagement
- Experience of successful conflict management and performance management
Technical experience:
- MRICS- Building Surveying.
- Proven skill sets for the core building surveying work areas of project management, design and
- contract administration, building regulations, CDM, building surveys, party wall and dilapidations.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Possesses vision and is able to develop complex strategies and solutions
